LANGKAWI with Rocelle

1 WHERE DID YOU GO?

Beautiful Langkawi in Malaysia

2- WHO WITH AND HOW LONG FOR?

I went on a fun family with my parents and brother and sister for 8 days of much laughter and adventure.

3- WHO DID YOU FLY WITH AND HOW WERE THEY

We flew Malaysian Airlines, they were the best timed and most direct travel option.

The Economy seating was roomy and comfortable with a bonus of twin window seating so easy to get up and stretch if you needed it.  There was plenty to watch on the entertainment with mostly recent movies and popular tv shows.

The food was a mix of local and western cuisine and plentiful.  The cabin crew were lovely and attentive.

4– WHAT WAS THE HIGHLIGHT?

We did many, many activities out and about the island every day, hiking, kayaking, jetskiing, a mangrove boat trip to learn about the local wildlife, environment and eco system, shopping, cooking classes and beach visits.  Everyone’s highlight was an afternoon swim and dinner cruise around one of the islands Geoparks, with diving, swimming, snorkelling and wobbly attempts at paddle boarding before a delicious bbq dinner and slow sail to the best views of the sunset through the islands.  The Geoparks are preserved national parks that are UNESCO protected for both the jungle and the wildlife that live there.

Langawi is comprised of lots of small islands with views reminiscent of Ha Long Bay withit’s varied lush green jungle mountains rising out of the sea and tiny pieces of paradise in the hidden coves of bright sandy beaches and their crystal clear water that entices you dip your toes in, but has a more untouched ethereal atmosphere.

5WHAT WAS THE LOWLIGHT?

Coming home!

6 BEST THING YOU ATE?

Malaysian cuisine is so flavourful, we had delicious meals everywhere we went. Malaysian Kapitan Chicken Curry and of course Beef Rendang were the favourites.

7 WHERE WOULD YOU GO BACK TO?

I would go back to Pantai Cenang and Berjaya Resort.

We stayed at Pantai Cenang on the South West Coast, which has a lovely beach, lots of shops and markets and restaurants.  And we stayed at Berjaya Eco Resort on the edge of the westers side of the island on the edge of the forest where we had many native visitors (monkeys!) visiting our chalet’s in the mornings and evenings.  The Resort is more secluded, so a great place to stay for some quite time, but with the jungle and numerous waterfalls nearby you can head out into nature for some adventure.
