Full Day Lancelin, Sandboarding & Pinnacle Desert Explorer

Wave Rock, York, Wildflowers with Lunch

Journey through Western Australia’s wheatbelt to Hyden – home of Wave Rock, truly one of Australia’s most incredible natural landforms. Leaving Perth we head through the Perth Hills and escarpment and enter farming country. Heading east, we enjoy morning tea (own expense) at historic York, the first township founded in
the Avon Valley. From there we travel the Wheatbelt Highway through the agricultural towns of Corrigin and Kondinin; through outback farming country – giving a glimpse of Australian country life. We then stop briefly at the infamous Dog Cemetery, a shrine to man’s best friend and an integral part of farming life. Then visit Hippo’s Yawn, a rock formation which resembles a hippo yawning. We then break for an Aussie country style lunch at the Wildflower Shop. Whilst here, visit either a Wildlife Park, view a unique Antique Lace Collection – even featuring lace from Lady Diana, or visit the amazing Toy Soldier museum. Lancelin 4WD -Westside

FROM PERTH Join Westside Tours on a 45-minute adventure ride through the pristine white sand dunes of Lancelin, located 1.5 hours north of the Perth city centre. Not for the faint hearted, this thrill ride takes you up and down some of the biggest dunes in Western Australia with the magnificent crystal clear waters of the Indian Ocean as the backdrop. Perth’s Best Wildflower Tour

Whilst the slope, soils and ancient granite outcrops of the Darling Escarpment are traditionally the ideal habitat and location to view wildflowers, profusion varies daily and is dependant on sunshine. We visit locations all around the Perth region where we expect to find the finest wildflowers for you to see and smell, monitoring the progress of wildflowers once in season to ensure we minimise travel time. Kings Park is renowned for its guarantee of wildflowers but areas such as Wireless Park, Gingin and Toodyay are also prolific at various times. Our experienced guide will help you identify rare and delicate wildflowers including renowned everlastings, orchids, red and green kangaroo paw, banksias, bottle brush and Western Australia’s most famous orange flowering Christmas trees. During the day at an opportune time (hopefully close to the gorgeous wildflowers), we stop for our included lunch (venue dependant on itinerary). Pinnacles, New Norcia & Wildflowers with Lunch

After travelling through the Swan Valley, we arrive at New Norcia, home to Australia’s only Benedictine Abbey. A little piece of Spain comes alive in this town, full of history, art and architecture. Hear the local history before viewing the chapel and museum artifacts gifted to the monastery by Popes and Royalty of Spain. Visit the famous Benedictine Community with a guided tour of the town and main sites including the museum and art gallery where you will find extraordinary artifacts dating back to when New Norcia was an Aboriginal mission. Next we move on to the Abbey Church; home to one of only two large Moser organs, originally crafted in Germany. This is followed by a visit to St Gertrude’s College, a grand gothic style building which was originally built as a girls boarding school and opened in 1908. We then visit a produce shop selling olive oil, fruit, wine, New Norcia nut cake and breads, before enjoying a fish and chips lunch and local breads and olive oil at the historic New Norcia Hotel. Then we head on to the Western Wildflower Farm to discover how wildflowers are dried and exported. We continue on for an easy paced walk through the mystical Pinnacles Desert.

Valley of the Giants TreeTop Walk with Lunch

Leaving Perth, travel through spectacular southwest forests and lush farmland to reach the impressive Valley of the Giants with a walk through the canopy of towering old growth forest. Traveling south through Donnybrook’s famous apple and stone fruit orchards for morning tea, we continue passing the rolling farmlands of the Blackwood River Valley, then on through Western Australia’s old growth forest to see the 51-metre tall Diamond Tree bushfire watch tower, before we stop for our included picnic lunch. Next it’s the Valley of the Giants Tree Top Walk, a 600-metre long elevated walkway through the canopy reaching up to 40 metres. This attraction is an internationally recognised nature-based tourism attraction and gives you a bird’s eye view of the amazing timber trees. Weave through the forest canopy for 600 metres and take in the majestic sight. Next, see the Ancient Empire of wide girthed Tingle Trees up to 10 metres in diameter. Visit Denmark before returning to Perth.

Margaret River, Wine, Busselton, Cape Leeuwin with Lunch

Travel south from Perth driving through farmland with grazing cattle and passing by coastaltowns. Arriving at Busselton, stop for morning tea (own expense) to view the iconic Busselton Jetty. This is the longest timber jetty in the Southern Hemisphere (please note there is not enough time at this stop to walk the full length of the jetty). Driving into the heart of the region, head to one of Margaret River’s oldest breweries for a gourmet platter lunch of local produce, with complimentary beer and cider tastings. Following lunch we continue south to an internationally renowned winery to taste some of their best award-winning wines, whilst gaining industry insights on wine production with the opportunity to purchase. Next it’s on to Mammoth Cave for a guided tour through this gothic cave with vast chambers that reveal fascinating information on the region’s flora and fauna. Continuing south, through the Boranup Forest of enormous Karri Trees, we reach the most fascinating part of the region at Augusta Here at Cape Leeuwin Lighthouse, marvel at the dividing point between the Southern and Indian Oceans – a rare phenomenon to view the meeting of two oceans. Then we head north to the township of Margaret River for a brief stroll on the main street. After a long but fantastic day we return to Perth.

Pinnacles Sunset Dinner Wildlife & Stargazing Tour

For this one day express of the best of the West; visit Yanchep National Park for diverse wildlife and bushland; Hangover Bay for a splash in the ocean and the Pinnacles Desert for extraordinary rock sculptures sticking out of the sand. See wild kangaroos and koalas, marine life of all sizes, before ending the day with a shimmering kaleidoscope of colour at sunset. Located only a short drive from Perth, your highlight is Yanchep National Park. Meander along numerous trails in search of kangaroos, koalas or wildflowers in spring. Enjoy coffee at the Chocolate Drop Tea Rooms or join a guided tour of the limestone Crystal Cave where you can admire the be jeweled beauty of stalagmites and stalactites (additional cost). Journey up the coast to Hangover Bay, a sun-seekers paradise with picturesque views. Best of Perth – Pinnacles & Swan Valley

This one day tour visits the Pinnacles, Lancelin sand dunes, Caversham Wildlife Park complete with lunch at a Swan Valley vineyard. Caversham Wildlife Park This fun packed full day trip departs from Perth at 8.30am and the first stop is Caversham Wildlife Park where Explorers get to feed Kangaroos and get up close to Koalas. You will also get to see a wide range of other animals, birds and marsupials that are native to Australia. After an hour or so spent with these amazing Australian icons we jump back on the Explorer bus and take a short drive to the beautiful Swan Valley. Swan Valley Vineyard The Swan Valley is well known for a wide range of internationally acclaimed vineyards, restaurants, cafes and art galleries. On this tour you will get a chance to visit one of the newest and best vineyards/breweries in the region and enjoy a lovely lunch with a glass of wine, beer or soft drink. Explorers choose their meal from a menu which has been certified as being suitable for customers requiring Halal meals. Amazing Pinnacles After lunch we take a drive up the Indian Ocean Road to the Nambung National Park for a close look at the Pinnacles. The park itself covers an area of 17,487 hectares and provides a natural habitat for an extensive range of animals and bird life. Luckily for us there is a modern discovery centre which houses fascinating interpretative displays with details of the Pinnacles themselves as well as the flora and fauna of the park. Aboard the Explorer Bus we will see the Pinnacles on a scenic drive through the park before setting off on foot for an easy paced walk through this eerie yet fascinating landscape, at which point you can take photos up close to the Pinnacles. Sand Boarding down Sand Dunes Back aboard the Explorer Bus we head south for an hour to finish off the day at the adventure filled town of Lancelin. Here you can admire the extensive Lancelin sand dunes and for the more adventurous explorers perhaps try out Sandboarding using the sand boards provided (think Snowboarding but replace the snow with sand). The Explorer Bus returns us back to Perth at around 7.30pm having experienced some of the best activities that the region has to offer.

New Norcia & Chittering Valley Tour

The 15 – 20 minute flight features views of stunning WA coastline, the island itself and Perth city beyond. Together with your Instructor, you will free fall at 200kms/hr for 60 seconds! This is by far the most exciting part, so we recommend considering an upgraded height of 15,000ft, which can be arranged on jump day. Your Instructor will deploy your parachute at 5,000ft and you then enjoy a spectacular 5-minute parachute ride, before landing on the beach alongside family and friends. Then it’s time to celebrate!
